From school-based care and free tutoring to sport, performing arts and specialist support, Broward families have more after-school options than ever , but availability, costs and eligibility vary widely.
Families in Broward County have a wide range of after-school options, from school-based child care and tutoring to arts, sports and STEM enrichment. Broward County Public Schools says its live Before & After School Child Care directory is the best place to start because it lists participating schools, providers, contact details and application access, while also noting that hours, fees and registration dates can vary from one campus to another. BCPS also says School Board Operated child-care scholarships for the 2026-27 school year are available through March 1, 2027, but families should verify eligibility and space directly with the district.
For parents looking for creative programmes, Hollywood’s Harris Art Studio offers year-round classes in drawing, painting, mixed media and other projects for children and teens. In Davie, Broadway Kids Studio combines homework time with performing arts instruction, including dance, acting, choir and musical theatre. Cooper City families can also find arts-based care through Dancer’s Gallery, which pairs school pickup and homework help with performing arts programming, while Inna’s Hall of Fame advertises dance, music, theatre and visual art enrichment with transportation from participating schools.
Active children have several choices as well. All Sports Kids runs an after-school programme for ages 5 to 14 that can include sports, dance, martial arts, tumbling, arts and crafts and homework assistance. AGS Youth Soccer in Oakland Park lists an after-school games programme, though the schedule is still marked as coming soon. For families seeking a more structured soccer option, Raptors Soccer Academy at Granada Indoor Soccer in Hollywood offers year-round training for children ages 2 to 14, with Wednesday evening sessions and an optional Sunday component.
Academic support remains a major part of the county’s after-school landscape. The Crockett Foundation’s Digital Explorers programme is a no-cost STEM option at select Broward middle schools, with a fall session listed from August 10 through December 17, 2026, running Monday through Thursday after school. BCPS also maintains an Extended Learning & Enrichment Academic Support resource for tutoring and enrichment. Outside the district, Broward County Library offers Brainfuse online tutoring, and its testing and tutoring page says students can access one-on-one help in subjects including math, science, social studies and English.
For families seeking specialised support, Ann Storck Center’s Maximizing Out of School Time programme serves children ages 3 to 16 with special needs and includes homework help, STEM, literacy, arts and crafts, social-emotional development, cultural arts and field trips. Broward Children’s Center also offers a before-and-after-school care programme for the children it serves, with activities guided by a certified teacher and funded by the Children’s Services Council of Broward County. Low-cost and free choices round out the list, including Broward County Parks’ out-of-school-time programmes at selected neighbourhood parks and Sunshine after-school programmes at multiple schools. Because schedules, transportation, fees and eligibility can change, families are being urged to confirm details directly before enrolling.
