Roblox has partnered with Digital Schoolhouse to provide free, curriculum-aligned resources for schools to teach children how to create games on Roblox Studio, emphasising safety and AI tools in education.
Digital Schoolhouse has teamed up with Roblox to give pupils a free set of classroom resources designed to help them make their own games on the platform. The UK-based education non-profit, backed by Ukie, said the materials are built around in-school teaching and include curriculum-aligned workshops, lesson plans for Roblox Studio and guidance for teachers.
According to Roblox, the package will let students begin with offline workshops on game development and idea pitching before building a game from scratch. The lessons cover core design principles, scripting in Roblox’s Luau language and best practice for prompting AI tools, reflecting the company’s push over the past year into faster, AI-assisted creation.
Roblox said the programme has been shaped for supervised classroom use rather than open-ended social play. A closed environment will be used in lessons, with an offline option for schools that do not have reliable devices or internet access. Teacher support materials will also include safeguarding advice, parent-facing information and help with curriculum alignment. The learning content is due to be made open source and available to download from the Digital Schoolhouse website later.
The partnership arrives against a backdrop of continued scrutiny of Roblox’s child safety record. The platform has faced legal and regulatory pressure in recent years, including a lawsuit in Louisiana and separate allegations in Los Angeles County that it fails to protect children from predatory behaviour. Roblox has responded with a series of safety changes over the past two years, including tighter direct messaging rules for users under 13, facial recognition checks to limit contact between minors and adults, a sensitive-issues content label and new moderation tools designed to give parents and regulators clearer information.
The move also builds on Roblox’s broader education push. In July 2025, the company launched its Learning Hub, a central place for educational experiences spanning computer science, arts, maths, life skills and brain games. Roblox Education says it offers free classroom resources, training and lesson plans for teachers using the platform, while Digital Schoolhouse says its wider mission is to help give every child access to a digital future.
